Whitman Partners has teamed up with the Competency & Credentialing Institute (CCI) to offer its members CCI’s CSSM Prep Course (a $225 value) when Whitman Partners’ members apply and are approved for the CSSM Exam.
WHAT DOES CCI’s CSSM PREP COURSE INCLUDE?
- Six consecutive weeks of class, delivered virtually via GoTo Training with live instructors
- Covers all seven subject areas of the CSSM® exam
- 12 hours of instruction classes, interactive activities, and Q&A
- In-class practice tests with in-depth review of answers and explanations
- Testing strategies, tips, and test-day advice
- 12 contact hours upon successful completion of the Course
Classes occur weekly on Tuesdays at 5pm CST, running six weeks concurrently. Participants are expected to join the sessions live; however, in case of a missed session, you may complete alternative assignments to earn CE.

Q3 Course: July 11 – August 15, 2017
Q3 Course: August 22, 2017 – September 26, 2017
Q4 Course: October 10 – November 14, 2017
All courses will follow the same weekly schedule.

HOW DO I TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE WHITMAN PARTNERS FREE CSSM PREP COURSE OFFER THROUGH CCI?
- Meet CSSM Exam eligibility requirements.
- Apply for the CSSM Exam (during the dates as indicated in the chart below) and be approved to take the test. Once approved, you will receive your Eligibility ID via email, usually within 24 hours of completing your application.
- Register for CCI’s CSSM Prep Course (during the dates as indicated in the chart below). You must register for the Prep Course after your CSSM Exam application is approved, as you will need your Eligibility ID.
- Attend CCI’s CSSM Prep Course via GoTo Training for six weeks.
- Take the CSSM Exam during your assigned testing window, as indicated in your application approval email. This email will give you detailed instructions for how to schedule your test.
The below chart includes important information about the dates you will need to apply for the CSSM Exam in order to receive the complimentary CSSM Prep Course. Please choose the CSSM Prep Course dates that work best for you, and apply for the CSSM Exam during the timeframes that correspond with your desired Prep Course dates.
WHAT ARE THE ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS TO APPLY FOR THE CSSM EXAM?
CCI, the administrator of the CSSM® Exam, requires the following eligibility requirements to apply for the exam. The eligibility requirements are different for Certified Perioperative Nurses (CNORs), than it is for those who are not CNOR-certified.
Domain-specific content refers to CE in one of the CSSM’s seven subject areas:

- Communication & Relationship Management

HOW DO I APPLY FOR THE CSSM EXAM AND HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
In order to receive your complimentary CSSM Prep Course, you must apply for the CSSM Exam during the timeframe as indicated in the table above. Failure to apply during these dates will result in your not being able to receive a free Prep Course.

CNOR-certified: $275
All others: $350
ONCE I AM APPROVED FOR THE CSSM EXAM, HOW DO I REGISTER FOR THE PREP COURSE?
CCI’s CSSM Prep Course is free for Whitman Partners members who apply for and are approved to take the CSSM Exam. To register, click on your choice Course dates below and you’ll be directed to our virtual training platform, GoTo Training.
On the registration page, you will be asked to enter your Eligibility ID. Your Eligibility ID will be emailed to you upon approval of your CSSM Exam application.
On the payment page, enter Whitman17 in the Discount Code field and click “Apply.” Your registration fee will show $0 once the Discount Code is applied, and at that time you’ll be able to complete your registration.

Contact hours are awarded after successful completion of the program, including full attendance and completion of post-course evaluations within 30 days of the last session.
